About Swedish American Hall

The Swedish American Hall is operated by Café Du Nord as a live music and entertainment venue. Located above the Du Nord in the same building, the Swedish American Hall was built in 1907 by Swedish craftsmen. Its centerpiece is a spectacular grand ballroom that is full of warm woods and old country charm. Though the grand ballroom is large enough to support leading national acts, it is the perfect venue to provide guests with a uniquely intimate musical experience.

Built in 1907, the Hall was designed by noted Swedish architect August Nordin, who designed over 300 buildings in San Francisco. A short history of the building is provided at http://www.swedishamericanhall.com/history.html .

This building has been used as a meeting place for many generations of Swedish Americans. It has Old World charm, a grand ballroom and is flexible to accommodate meetings, parties, dinners, weddings, receptions, recitals and other special events. Take a look at some of the architectural details and view rooms available for rent.
