Singaporean cuisine doesn't have to try to do fusion. It comes naturally since the food draws on Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Nonya and Malaysian cuisines. Straits Restaurant was one of the first to serve this polyglot food in Silicon Valley and it remains an exemplar of the cuisine, whether you call it Asian fusion, Singaporean or just good food.
