At Stanford Lively Arts, our mission is to ignite and fuel a passion for the arts through stirring live performances and engaging educational offerings. The fundamental principles of exploration, creativity, and passion underlie all that we do.

We present the finest in classical and world music, dance, and spoken word by internationally renowned artists and exceptional newcomers from around the world. Artistic growth is fostered through world premieres, unique collaborations, and commissions to create new works. In keeping with the educational mission of a leading university, Stanford Lively Arts provides diverse and meaningful opportunities for enrichment through the arts, both onstage and off, that focus on artistic participation and self-discovery. Many of these educational and community engagement programs are free and open to the public, including pre- or post-performance discussions, master classes, community “Informances,” and student matinees for children.

Through passionate live performance, the creation of new art, and memorable encounters with remarkable artists, we endeavor to make the performing arts an essential, exciting, and ongoing part of the lives of our community.
