| Description Following a month off after Independence Day fell on the first Friday in July, South First Fridays returns Aug. 1 with a new round of gallery openings, artist receptions and live entertainment. For this installment, Anno Domini hosts its popular Street Mrkt, a “DIY urban fair” featuring performances from improvisational belly dance troupe Tribal Moon and indie rockers the New Centuries and the Bug Pedals. The gallery also showcases the work of Brazilian artist Bruno 9Li, who presents *META*, focusing on the idea of what lies beyond our current lives. Works/San Jose gallery also makes its return to South First Fridays, having closed its doors to the public earlier this year, and hosts its annual members exhibit, aptly titled *Re:Group*. A few blocks away on South Fourth Street, Kaleid Gallery also hosts a reception for its futuristic new exhibit, *Into the Void*, with live music from Benjamin Henderson. |
