| About San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) At SFAI art is more than objects and processes; it is also a way of thinking.
The School of Studio Practice consists of SFAI's departments of Design+Technology, Film, New Genres, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture. Offering BFA, MFA, and Post-Baccalaureate programs, The School of Studio Practice is centered on the development of the artist's vision through studio-based experiments.
The School of Interdisciplinary Studies, offers BA and MA programs in History and Theory of Contemporary Art, Urban Studies, and Exhibition and Museum Studies. Supporting the role of research, The School of Interdisciplinary Studies is based on the premise that critical thinking and writing are essential for engaging contemporary art and global society.
SFAI's Dean of Academic Affairs is Okwui Enwezor, Dean of Graduate Studies is Renée Green, and Director of SFAI's Exhibitions and Museum Studies Program Hou Hanru.
