RX Bandits are fearless. In a nervous era of record label focus groups, marketing strategies, and narrowly defined micro genres, it seems that the idea of the Transcendently Great Rock & Roll Band has been lost. Fortunately for us all, Southern California’s RX Bandits seem to have become exactly that. Featuring core members of the abstract freak-out collective The Sound of Animals Fighting, RX bandits are a five-limbed live beast that thrives on a collaborative spirit of constant musical evolution. Their latest release, 2006’s "…And the Battle Begun" is living proof that experimental music needn’t sound as if it were composed on calculators, that a band can be “prog” without the slightest hint of grandiosity, and that songs with advanced technical instrumentation and complex arrangements can make you move.
