About Poleng Lounge

From the ashes of a legendary San Francisco venue emerges a new leaf – the Poleng Lounge. Inspired by the Balinese notion of duality and the pursuit of a balanced lifestyle, Poleng Lounge is the new destination for all who seek enlightenment through a full range of premium tea blends from around the world, an innovative presentation of street foods from all across Asia, playful cocktails, and eclectic music from both emerging and established artists.

THE FIRESIDE LOUNGE Framed by a panoramic backdrop of water falling over chiseled limestone tiles, enjoy a pot of tea or share an order of satay with a friend in the front lounge. By day sunlight filters through floor-to-ceiling glass providing the perfect retreat from school or work. By night alchohol-infused tea blends invigorate an eclectic social scene in this quintessential, recently coined “NoPa” (North of the Panhandle), San Francisco neighborhood.

THE TEMPLE ROOM Heavily influenced by Balinese aesthetics, our performance/private banquet space adds flair through environmentally conscious design using salvaged metal gong tables, turned stools made from recycled teak, and bamboo accents. Music aficionados will appreciate the enhanced audio system designed by award winning JK Sound.

PRIVATE PARTIES AND BANQUET FACILITIES Our 2-room venue is uniquely suited to host any event - from private dinners parties of 10 to wedding receptions or corporate functions with ~150 guests. Poleng Lounge also carries a wide range of A/V equipment to accommodate speakers, live bands, dj's, and film screenings. E-mail sales@polenglounge.com to learn more.

Dam Funk Image
Dam Funk
Bring on Da Funk
By Matt Crawford (09/04/2009)

" Funk is alive and well with Dam Funk, a L.A. cat who got his music industry chops in the 90s working with artists in the then-thriving G funk scene. Now solo, the keyboardist is putting his own stamp on funk with breezy, electric instrumentals tailor made for the Bay Area’s Indian summers. Dam Funk returns to San Francisco for a set of original material and classic funk at Poleng Lounge on September 11th. He spoke with SF Station during a phone interview from L.A. "

Poleng Lounge
Southeast Asian Street Food Infused with Tea and Grooves
By Chrissy Loader (12/21/2006)

" Located in the space that housed 1751 Social Club (and Storyville before that), Poleng Lounge is a tea house, food Mecca, and dance club all in one. This means experiencing the sounds of trickling water and the scent of fine tea leaves, before being hit with the bluster of seven dancing girls lining up against a velvet rope, waiting for entry into Poleng’s Temple Room. 1751 Social Club Image
1751 Social Club
Fancied-up Pub Food Set to Music
By Michelle de Grasse (10/28/2005)

" The last time I visited 1751 Social Club, I surmised that I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. It was good fare, but the overall experience didn't blow me away, nor did it blow me back in. Former reviewers had been similarly nonplussed by trips to 1751 Social Club, reinforcing the idea that the space that once housed the ill-fated Creole/jazz/hip-hop supper club, Storyville, was somehow cursed.
