PIER 39 Attractions
A favorite sight for locals and visitors of all ages, PIER 39’s sea lions are among the most notable attractions in San Francisco. Especially during the winter, hundreds of sea lions remain camped out around the docks of the West Marina, lazing about and diving in to the waters to sup on the plentiful herring supply. Even during the summer, though, smaller groups of these flippered friends can still be spotted lounging in the sunshine at PIER 39’s K-Dock. To learn more about San Francisco’s favorite “Sea-Lebrities,” be sure to chat with the staff at the Marine Mammal Center’s kiosk located next to the viewing area.
