"Featuring prominent piano and vocals in front of U2-inspired anthemic rock songs, OneRepublic formed in 2002." After they were dropped from Columbia records a year later, the band's popularity grew thanks to the internet social network Myspace. They were, in fact, the most popular band on the site. OneRepublic teamed up with Timbaland and were signed to the massively successful producer's label. 2007 saw the release of Timbaland's remix of OneRepublic's song "Apologize," which "quickly became a platinum-selling single in many countries, breaking records in the U.K. (where it was crowned the most popular song in radio history) and the U.S. (where it received more airplay than any other song in Top 40 history)." Dreaming Out Loud, OneRepublic's full-length album was released later in 2007.
