Western Addition Bars and Clubs

VIEW BY:

A bit of an in-between point, San Francisco's Western Addition may not be known as one of the most desired neighborhoods, but it's got potential. The neighborhood has undergone some rough times, but still holds onto its roots as an African American Jazz community. Spots that deserve a visit are clubs like the Independent, a thriving live hip-hop club that has held its place in the neighborhood for years. The Fillmore is the area's biggest draw as one of the most intimate and storied live music venues in the city. John Lee Hooker's Boom Boom Room is also a perfect place for bourbon and some soulfully smokey blues and jazz.
