Richmond District Bars and Clubs

For whatever reason, people seem to ignore San Francisco as it stretches out towards the Pacific, zoning places like the Richmond District strictly residential. By day, Richmond has the charm of families, Chinese Americans, Russians and Irish. By night, however, those that know the city know how much fun there is to be had at the District's pubs and other watering holes. Irish delights like the Abbey Tavern are bustling on weekends, with a packed dance floor and strong drinks. Other spots like Sam's have scorpion bowls (large bowls filled to the brim with booze and multiple straws for sharing) and give the Richmond its unique, if somewhat homey, drinking character. Most Richmond district nightlife is refreshingly cheap for those used to San Francisco nightlife from off the Richmond.
