Nightlife near Fisherman's Wharf is restaurant bar nightlife. Tourists from out of town drink Irish coffees overlooking the Bay in sight of the Golden Gate Bridge at night. During Dungeness crab season in the early spring, the crab houses spill over with locals drinking Chardonnay and dipping San Francisco's famous delicacy. This famous San Francisco neighborhood stretches from Ghiradelli Square all the way to Pier 35, near Kearny Street. The best-known area of Fisherman's Wharf is Pier 39, a popular shopping center and tourist attraction located directly on the San Francisco Bay. Street performers frequent this pier, creating a Vaudevillian atmosphere that changes with each visit. North Beach, Chinatown and the Embarcadero are all nearby Fisherman's Wharf, making it an ideal place to begin or end a trip to San Francisco.
