Description
Watch Marsbassman play a stand up bass live to the sounds of Masonic's trip hop and jazzy hip hop. Your night begins and ends at John Colins Lounge.

DJ and electronica artist MASONIC has mixed his unique blend of downtempo hip-hop, trip-hop, French house, and funk at venues from San Francisco to Berlin to Rome. In the Bay Area he has been heard at a variety of spaces, ranging from clubs such as Temple, Mezzanine, Sugar, Skylark, Sip, Mint, and Fuse, to art spaces such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Berkeley Art Museum, Varnish, and the ICAN Gallery. During art and fashion shows his sets have been heard at 111 Minna, and often joining him on upright bass is David Arend (aka MarsBassMan), adding a jazzy twist to appearances at venues such as Varnish during their regular monthly. During a residency in Berlin, he appeared at well-known venues such as the Roter Salon, smaller lounges such as Zu Mir, or at large clubs in the former east side such as Kinzo. While living in Rome, Masonic DJed in Monte Testaccio, the thriving nightlife scene built inside the mountain of an ancient pottery dump, at venues such as Metaverso and Scarabocchio. This month, Masonic could be seen DJing at the gallery-meets-lounge Varnish, the lounge-meets-club JOHN COLINS, and the mega-club Mezzanine. In addition, he performed live electronica at the opening of the Festival of New American Music.
