| Description Joanna Macy discusses the newly revised WORLD AS LOVE, WORLD AS SELF: Courage for Global Justice and Ecological Renewal, a book that puts the relationship between the personal and the political into a Buddhist context filled with Macy's trademark humor and rich storytelling. Macy offers a blueprint for social change, with concrete suggestions on how to address "An Inconvenient Truth", and shows how to discover the knowledge authority and courage to respond creatively to the crises of our time - interdependently. Joanna Macy ( HYPERLINK "http://www.joannamacy.net" www.joannamacy.net) is also the author of the memoir Widening Circles, and Coming Back to Life, among other works, and is the co-translator of two volumes of Rilke's poetry. Joining her this evening is singer-songwriter-activist Jennifer Berezan ( www.edgeofwonder.com), who will provide some very special music throughout.
Tickets not required, though a $10 donation is suggested to help defray FCCB's cost; no one turned away for lack of funds. |
