Description
Park Life is pleased to announce a new exhibition of paintings by Holly Williams and Justin Gabbard.


This show represents some interesting differences from our past program. Although Holly and Justin's work are linked to past shows through the commonality of a narrative mode, their work differs in style and theme. Rather than representing ideas through well defined symbols, actions and characters, Holly and Justin use banal everyday images to convey their ideas.

Holly Williams paints scenes she has gathered from photos, home movies, television and movie stills. Using a painterly layering process, she mimics photography but adds effects such as blurring, out of focus, and over exposure.

Justin Gabbard's paintings and drawings use people and objects as projections of his thoughts. Colors are repeated as words or are sometimes used to add rhythms to the work.
