Description
On Friday, November 9, the de Young Poetry Series presents readings and book-signings by Rosmarie and Keith Waldrop. Founders of the legendary press Burning Deck, Keith and Rosmarie Waldrop have influenced the course of innovative poetry through their prolific writing, editing, and works of translation from German, French, and other languages. Their contributions to French literature are so significant that the French government has named them to the rank of Chevalier des arts et des lettres. Keith Waldrop’s poetry collections include, "A Windmill Near Calvary," which was nominated for the National Book Award in 1968, and "Light While There Is Light." Born in Germany, Rosmarie Waldrop’s distinguished publishing career includes the poetry collections "Curves to the Apple," "Blindsight," and "The Reproduction of Profiles." The readings begin at 7 pm in the Koret Auditorium. Tickets are $8 members/$12 non-members. The ticket price does not include gallery admission.
