Khadija and Jamila, new owners of the Cafe 16 (formerly Mission Grounds) are slowly transforming this neighborhood café. Cafe 16 continues to serve daytime crepes and omelets. Now you can find Sheeshas, Moroccan smoking pipes, which are available for use at an outdoor table. Inside, local artist Jan Padover is painting a wall-size mural with a Moroccan theme. Cafe 16 also has a large Padover canvas of a Moroccan bazaar. After five years as the same owners, Cafe 16 continues to be a favorite neighborhood café.
