Blackthorn Tavern

The Blackthorn Tavern, a longstanding Irish pub in the heart of the Inner Sunset under new management, presents free events and specials nearly every day, from Monday-night trivia competition to Sunday football. Blackthorn—“an emerald gem in the heart of the Sunset,” as described by SF Weekly—also presents trivia, darts and pool competitions, live music and karaoke.

The Blackthorn Tavern retains its friendly, down-to-earth neighborhood appeal. Blackthorn features two league-quality pool tables, a photo booth, a pinball machine and a Golden Tee arcade game as well as a heated outdoor smoking patio with a retractable awning. It is located in a one-story structure that has housed bars and other businesses since 1913.
