Argonaut Book Shop specializes in the history of California, Western Americana, Western Exploration, Pacific Voyages, Rare Literature, and Illustrated Books, as well as maps, prints, photographs, manuscripts and ephemera.

Founded in 1941 by Robert D. Haines, the Argonaut was a founding member of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America. The shop is located near historic Union Square in downtown San Francisco and is open six days a week.
